Picking a coffee berry is the same as pick ing a cherry. The berries should be large, red and juicy. Choosing them gets the optimal flavour out of the coffee bean.

It is only the red coffee berries that are picked from the trees. First you turn, then pull to pick each berry. The picking season ranges from June to August, and November to January

When the coffee is picked, it must be processed with-in six hours. This is to prevent the fermentation process from starting before the berries are pulped. You need to pick three to five kg of coffee berries - around to 5,000 in total – to create one kg of roasted coffee.
